Guests' CommentsM.B. from Canada - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "Thank you for making this the best trip we have ever taken. The weather was gorgeous, the camp is very comfortable and I can’t say enough about Ellery. He was very professional, safety conscious, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was very good, the trips each day amazing... Wow."
E.C. from Canada - Johnstone Strait - Orca Explorer "I absolutely loved our trip to the native village and our campsite near there. We saw sow so much wildlife that we had to write all our sightings down so we wouldn't forget for e.g. 7 eagles in one tree looking at us looking at them, otter, dolphin, herring ball, bears, humpback, orcas. It was the trip of a lifetime and I thank everyone involved in getting us out there, keeping us safe & well fed and providing so many opportunities to observe, to learn & to laugh."
J.C. from England - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "The trip was one of the best things I have ever done in my life... My memories will last forever. I can remember just sitting in my kayak surrounded by flat calm water thinking just how peaceful it all was & weren't we lucky with the weather!"
S.S. from Wales - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "Without doubt our trip exceeded all our expectations. The organisation, equipment and setting were perfect. Myself and my son had a magnificent time, we can not think of anything that could be changed that would improve it. The wildlife and sceanary were amazing and our guide Joel was a real star, great knowledge and skills, top chef and a thouroughly decent bloke. The holiday has left us with fantastic memories that will stay with us both for life. Thanks so much."
K.A.. from USA - Great Bear Rainforest "Our destinations were exceptional. Camping on a beautiful sandy beach, and watching a humpback whale breech several times right in front of us was fabulous. Sitting on the beach and shelter bay watching seals frolick in the cold water, absolutely perfect. And it was really great how our group made decisions about where to paddle. I'm sad that weather didn't allow us to paddle to the scheduled islands at the end of the trip, but paddling north in the fog, hiking in the Great Bear Rain Forest, surfing, paddling through reverse tidal rapids, etc. was well worth it."
G.M. from Canada - Johnstone Strait - Orca Explorer "I keep asking myself why didn't I do this years ago. It was absolutely the best adventure trip I've been on,for sure I'll be back next year.I couldn't of hand pick a better guide than Ellery he is very knowledgeable and helpfull."
U.Z from Grenada - - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "I cannot thank both of you enough for making this trip so enjoyable. It felt like being in a group of trusted friends, very relaxed, open and comfortable - never an akward or pushy moment. The smooth organization, attention to detail, and especially your caring attitude, e.g. taking my kayak on a lead so I could take pictures with ease or Elery giving me his hat when it rained, made this an unforgettable experience. I will definitely do more kayaking trips in the future - such a perfectly peaceful way of being in nature."
K.K from U.S.A - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "Our campsite was unbelievable. To be able to sit on the beach looking straight down the inside passage while you drink either a cafe mocha or glass of wine was awesome. There can't be a more serene spot anywhere. Also, having our own bald eagle, seal, and family of otters to share the cove with was really neat."
K.L. from U.S.A - Johnstone Strait - Orca Explorer "The meals were wonderfully fresh and interesting. I appreciated the variety. There was never a time when I was unable to find something savory to enjoy, despite the fact that I am a vegetarian. Every meal was delicious."
S.T from U.S.A - Queen Charlotte Strait "Wow! Is there anything Andre doesn't know about kayaking? I felt completely safe and in very capable hands the entire trip... Francois and Andre were a great team. The quality of the guiding made the entire trip enjoyable."
H.G. From U.S.A.- Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "Betty and I had a wonderful time on the trip. I can't imagine how it could have been better. You and Andre and Francois were great"
D.W. and P.W. from England - Queen Charlotte Strait "Only last night did we actually sit down and edit the video off the cam-corder, that brought back some great memories. One thing that really struck us again on the video was how quiet it had been. There are few places these days where you can enjoy near silence; on the video, as it pans round the sunset from Vansitart on our first night there, it was sheer magic .Having been down the (Johnstone) Strait the previous year it really was something completely different, much more exposed and rugged particularly on the N.E. side of the islands ,where the swell was more noticable ,though never too bad! To see the Humpbacks was truly awesome. We had another great week- many thanks to you once again. It's not just the whales ,sealions , porpoise but the other things like the silence , vastness and power of the ocean that make for such a total experience..."
E.D. from Japan - Queen Charlotte Strait - God's Pocket "It was so nice to travel with you again. You are as sweet as before! Hope to see you again..."
A.E. from U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters Family Trip "I chose Kingfisher from numerous companies. They offered excellent trips at a more reasonable price than others. My conversation with Andrew (owner of company) sealed the deal -- he was friendly and extremely helpful. If anything, the reality exceeded our expectations. It was one of the best trips we have ever taken as a family, and we have taken many, many trips. We would love to go on another trip with Kingfisher!"
M.L.W. from U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "We took a five-day kayaking trip with Kingfisher and the only thing wrong with it was that it was too short! Safety, adventure and comfort are well balanced. The guides (we went out with Andrew and his brother, Eric) are skilled, friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. They quietly changed their pace to fit mine. I had only paddled a little as a child but caught on quickly during the trip and now I am hooked. It is really, really fun and exciting. The equipment is excellent, they are very well prepared for all contingencies and they work behind the scenes so everything happens smoothly. The area is very beautiful with a variety of activities available -- watching wildlife, hiking in the woods, relaxing at camp, eating excellent food and lots of paddling. I plan to take another trip with Kingfisher and wholeheartedly recommend these trips to everyone!"
D.K. from U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Explorer "It wasn't that Kingfisher Wilderness Adventures made every meal a gourmet delight; or that they took my camping experience to a higher level by providing pleasant unexpected treats along the way; or that they entertained me with their impressive knowledge of the plant and animal world that we were traveling through that made me glad I selected them as my tour guides. Those were just extras. What really impressed me was their in-depth knowledge of the area we were touring, both its attributes and its dangers, and their ability to judge the skill level of the people in their care and structure the trip based on those assessments. They were professional, environmentally conscience and they worked really hard to make sure that everyone enjoyed themselves. They're a great group of people."
M.V. from U.S.A. - Clayoquot Sound Adventure "A great paddling adventure in a beautiful setting with wildlife, good food, wine and company tossed in there. What else could you ask for in a vacation? Thanks for a great trip!"
G.H. From U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "We had a great time and would recommend your group to anyone wanting to experience a great kayak trip. Keeping the group small is certainly a big plus. The trip was a great learning experience regarding the Orca whales."
G.R. from Canada - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "I have to say that the food preparation was also up there with what I enjoyed most...First rate...better than I eat at home!!! Delicious, great variety and enough for seconds!!! "
J.W. from U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "Wow. I think you should write a camping cookbook."
D.P from U.S.A. - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "The trip with Kingfisher was beyond my expectations. I relive the experience daily with photos on my desktop. The quality of the equipment, food and guidance were superb. I was so impressed with the Kayaking experience that I have now built my own Mahogany Kayak and am looking forward to more fun on the water this season."
D.R from Canada - Hot Springs Cove "I was out for seven days with Andrew and Kingfisher Adventures: the experience was most pleasant the whole time. I add that Andrew has a wonderful character for this type of job: He is quiet, competent, resourceful, measuring, cautious and accommodating. The food quality with respect to taste and nutritional value approaches luxury. Overall, Kingfisher Adventures really has it together."
I.V.M. from Canada - Hot Springs Cove "I haven't forgotten the wonderful week of paddling the west coast. Thank you for all your efforts to make our tour terrific. Compared to my usual activities and surroundings, the kayaking was a unique get-away. It was a thrill to see the eagles, intertidal life, dolphins, rainforest and even just to observe the natural rhythm of the tide, weather and wind. Soaking in the hot springs after our long paddle was memorable.....I really appreciated the efforts of yourself and Meredith to ensure that we were safe, comfortable, warm and very well fed."
B.P. from England - Johnstone Strait - Orca Explorer "My husband and I took a 5 day kayak trip with Kingfisher Adventures in September 1999. As there was only the 2 of us, we had a very personalized trip. The equipment was of high quality, the food was plentiful and tasty, and the whales cooperated! Andrew, our guide, was very knowledgeable on marine life which made the trip a learning experience for us. All in all, it was a great 5 days."
J.L. and R.M from Canada - Clayoquot Sound Adventure "We really enjoyed our trip with Andrew and would strongly recommend Kingfisher Wilderness Adventures!... We both really enjoyed the trip. It was great simply to get away."
C.R. from Canada - Johnstone Strait - Orca Waters "The entire trip was great. We really enjoyed the time we spent with Andre he is such an interesting guy. The food was excellent, the boats were great. I don't think we can say enough good things about the trip...Thanks again for the great vacation! We will definitely plan on doing it again, maybe we will see you next summer."
